Lumbar pillows are pillows that are designed to prevent back problems or spinal discomfort by conforming to your spine. They're not pillows for the head - they're little curved-looking things that you stick under your back so that it is able to rest along a natural curve instead of a flat surface.

It lets you electronically adjust the firmness so that you can try to conform it a little more closely to your comfort level. It's made specifically for travel, so it's a little lower quality than some of the ones you can get designed to be used in the home (but that's pretty much par for the course). |

Duro-Med Memory Foam Lumbar Support Cushion - Available online here for $25.99. These lumbar pillows are a little more traditional, but are still lightweight and able to be used for travel. This one is made from memory foam, a great innovation that essentially contours itself to whatever is pressing against it. This back pillow will do that for your spine, so it will fit to the exact curvature, unlike a bed. |

Health-o-Meter Lumbar Travel Cushion - Available online here for $14.99. This is another memory foam-based lumbar pillow, but this one is designed specifically for travel and is a little cheaper if you don't want to spend too much. It gets some mixed reviews - some people find it too small to give much support. Others think it's just perfect - so maybe if you're a little bigger, this isn't the one for you (it sounds like putting too much pressure on it makes it crunch up). But then, it's 15 bucks - so this might be an issue of people expecting too much from the product. |
