Pillow covers aren't usually the same as pillow cases - they're basically little zip-up things that go over the pillow but under the pillowcase. They are great for allergy sufferers, as they can shield the pillow itself from dust mites, moisture, etc. that could get into it. Especially with feather pillows, this can be a big problem for people who have allergic issues and can result in mold and mildew inside the pillow itself. A washable pillow cover eliminates these problems. Some people also refer to the little covers on decorative pillows as "pillow covers" as well. You've got a few options for both:

King Size Aller-Ease Pillow Covers - Available online here for $16.99. This is a 240 thread count "pillow protector" that you can zip up around your pillow. It's billed as hypo-allergenic, and it's machine washable. They've got a couple of other sizes as well for Standard and Queen pillows. |
